Maps of Sierra Leone
Sierra Leone is just north of the Equator. It is on the coast of West Africa, between Guinea and Liberia. On the map below, look at the lower left, to find the small, green, round nation.
Sierra Leone is about the size and shape of the US State of South Carolina, with a similar population. They have similar geography, but Sierra Leone is hotter and wetter. Sierra Leone has 16 districts, which are like counties.
We began working in remote areas of the remote Kailahun District, then moved west and south. We hope to begin teaching in the Bonthe and Kono Districts in 2024-2025. We also have invitations to teach in Moyamba, Tonkolili, Bombali, Port Loko, and Karene Districts.
On the map below, you'll find the Bo, Pujehun, Kenema, and Kailahun Districts in the southeastern part of the country. We have taught 23 classes in 21 sites in these areas. The triangles represent our training sites; the star on the west coast is the capital city and the airplane is the location of the airport. The little house is where our headquarters is, in Bo Town, the second city of Sierra Leone.
